The Role


 

Key Responsibilities:

Managers for Chicago, IL location. Oversee and direct a staff of software engineering and development professionals to design, architect, implement and deploy software product lines in highly available, high transaction software environment. Develop staffing plans. Provide detailed technical mentorship and design reviews for software engineers on the team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret information as well as team up with software engineers and architects to help in translating requirements into software applications. Document and assist in designing software solutions, evaluate new products and technologies and socialize findings, and develop and test mobile applications. Participate in the design and delivery of petabyte-scale data stores running in Amazon, and design, optimize and operate data models. Work with data scientists and other technical staff to operationalize analysis and machine learning algorithms. Work with open-source tools, support post deployment and defect fixing. Commit to road maps with capabilities and timelines using Agile software development methodology for new product and technology evaluation and introduction. Manage technical team to deliver products on time and on budget. Technical Environment: Java, Highly Available (HA), scalable and distributed/clustered and large-scale enterprise software applications, including hybrid mobile applications; Mobile Development (iOS, Android, HTML), Cordova, REST Webservices, JavaScript, APIs, HTML5 Interactive Maps API (Google Maps API), JSP, servlets, Python programming for data integration, SQL, NoSQL and Big Data (Hadoop, DynamoDB, Redis, Kafka, Storm, Riak), Amazon Webservices (AWS) (EMR, Dynamo DB, RDS, Redshift, Data Pipeline, Kinesis), VMWare, DNS, SQL, SNMP, Linux, Continuous Integration (Hudson/Jenkins/Cruisecontrol), WebLogic, J2EE, Maven, chef, puppet, Oracle DB, SOA, BPEL.

Requirements:

*Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience with Software Development required. Required Skills: Experience leading and mentoring technical team, including design review; software development experience building and implementing Highly Available (HA), scalable & distributed/clustered and large-scale enterprise software applications in high transaction environment, including hybrid mobile applications; hands on experience in an Agile environment, and with J2EE, REST Webservices, Javascript, HTML5 (Interactive Maps), JSP, servlets, open-source Big Data, VMWare, AWS (EMR, Dynamo DB, RDS, Redshift, Data Pipeline, Kinesis), DNS, SQL, SNMP, Linux, Continuous Integration, WebLogic. Some telecommuting permitted. (*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any Engineering or related field plus 5 years of progressive experience with Software Development also acceptable.)

Salary: $173,963/yr.- $173,963/yr.
