AI Engineering Consultant

Proxima, owned by Bain & Co, is a dynamic and fast-growing global procurement consultancy (EU, US & APAC). We are early in our AI journey and are seeking a specialist AI Engineer to accelerate our ability to create AI developed applications that support our delivery to clients. As a hands-on engineer who can consult with internal stakeholders, understand the operational issues, and develop solutions that add value. This role will also be heavily involved with other data and technical transformation activities and support the ongoing AI journey with end user support and training.

What we’re looking for:

As an AI Engineer Consultant, this role requires a motivated self-starter. Someone who is comfortable with gathering requirements, asking questions, and challenging the status quo.

You will be responsible for -

• Consultation with several business areas to identify where potential automation or AI solutions can support the delivery of client services

• Building relationships with internal stakeholders and take the lead on delivering AI solutions that benefit the business

• Work closely with IT colleagues to ensure applications are build and launched in the correct manner and in line with our security protocols

• Design and develop AI algorithms, models, tools, and applications

• Manage the testing and implementation including the communication planning and release of AI driven solutions

• Implement AI models into company environments and monitor on-going performance, making changes where necessary

• Provide training to stakeholders on the best practices of working with AI tools

• Advising the business on the correct models to use, and where necessary create business cases for new models to be implemented

• Be the face of AI at Proxima, promoting the use of AI to support the growth strategy of the business

To be successful in this role you will have.

• The ability to consult and build relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels

• Ability to translate business language into technical requirements

• Wide range of knowledge regarding AI, included multiple LLMs

• Commercial experience working in AI/ML

• Experience with Gen AI would be beneficial

• Strong programming skills with Python and other languages such as R or Java

• Strong cloud experience in an Azure environment (AWS or GCP also beneficial)
