About the Role
As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and enhance data pipelines and platforms supporting the One Platform/RDS team. You will be responsible for developing scalable data solutions, optimizing data workflows, and ensuring data quality and governance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver robust data infrastructure that supports analytics and business intelligence. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering practices and mentor junior team members.
About the Team
Our team is the One Platform/RDS team, responsible for building and maintaining data platforms and services that support enterprise-wide data needs. We are passionate about data and technology, and we work closely with stakeholders across the organization to deliver high-quality data solutions. As part of a global team, you will have the opportunity to work with diverse technologies and contribute to strategic data initiatives.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering with strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with a preference for Azure Data Services.
- Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and building ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data processing.
- Proficiency in data modeling, data warehousing, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering.
- Ability to collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business value.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with proficiency in English.
- Understanding of insurance/reinsurance business is an advantage.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a focus on outcomes.
