SUMMARY

Uses specific knowledge of a discipline to achieve goals through own work. Has specific knowledge or expertise typically gained through formal education or equivalent experience. Uses expertise to provide guidance to others as a project manager or consultant. Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within a job discipline. Performs routine assignments using existing procedures. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Provide analytical support that enriches and ensures high caliber data to performance calculation engine by implementing tools and processes used to maintain a common, data standard across the department.
  • Work towards improving data quality in the Data Management Platform. Collaborate with data steward, data consultants and technology partners for data governance and data quality structure.
  • Assist on post implementation testing and deliver within the timelines.
  • Provide feedback and process improvements in an agile manner- involves working with Index Vendors, providers and consulting internal Product SMEs /Business /clients expectations/requirements.
  • Have knowledge on Market Indices data, Index constructions and methodologies, vendor restrictions, data usage, data publishing, data ingestion & data delivery.
  • Handle Index Migrations on the enterprise Market index data repository.
  • Communicate with internal business areas, outside vendors and consultants regarding automation needs.
  • Collaborates with partners across the organization in maintaining the data governance and data quality structures ensuring we are meeting business needs while balancing quality, risk and cost.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Knowledge of business functions and processes usually obtained through related work experience in the following areas: financial operations, portfolio and project management. 
  • General knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the technology field. (e.g., Snowflake and Azure)
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge – Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Microsoft Excel, Data Bricks, Collibra, Talend, Alteryx, R or Python, Data Visualization and Power BI) is required.
  • Analytical Skills –  Strong ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Communication Skills – Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Market Knowledge - Understanding of financial markets, market indices, and related concepts (Preferable)
  • Collaboration Skills – Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders across IRAS and Northern Trust as a whole. Be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Attention to Detail – Meticulous approach to data analysis and reporting to ensure accuracy.

EXPERIENCE

  • A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience
  • Overall 6 year of experience and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in investment analysis domain.

Eligibility for Internal Partners

  • 24 months as a Technical Coordinator/Associate Consultant to move as a Team Leader/ Consultant.
  • Movement within TL and Consultant is 12 months
