Salary is dependent upon the candidate's skills, experience, education and certifications. 

Salary Range: 150-175k

High end of salary range is considered for those who exceed qualifications in one or more required skill areas.

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Senior Cloud Database Administrator for one of our clients.  The designated candidate for this position will join a collaborative team environment, providing support and expertise necessary toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables, and provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting status/progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional and/or technical expertise to plan, analyze, define and support the delivery of future functional and technical capabilities for an application or group of applications.

• Assist in facilitating impact assessment efforts and in producing and reviewing estimates for client work requests.

• Administer over 30 AWS RDS databases running Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSFT SQL Server, and MySQL in multiple AWS accounts.

• Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including account management, AWS Data migration services (DMS) design and implementation for inter-database synchronization, backup/recovery, disaster recovery testing, and configuration management.

• Manage database management systems (DBMS)  on AWS and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or any related field.
• Advanced AWS RDS Experience with Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, and MS SQL Servers that includes but not limited to:
  • Deploying multi-AZ RDS systems with high performance
  • Performance tuning with AWS Performance Insights
  • Integrating Oracle Enterprise Manager for performance monitoring
  • Designing AWS Data Migration Services jobs for data synch between databases
  • Database Encryption at rest and in transit
  • Configuring the parameter groups
  • Managing IP traffic using a security group
  • Auditing the database log files
  • Maintenance and management activities
  • Planning backup and recovery strategies
  • User management
  • Monitoring the database
• Expertise with Relational Database Management System (RDBMS).
• Advanced knowledge of AWS Relational Database Service (RDS), Oracle Database Administration and PostgreSQL Administration.
• Proficient with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
• Must be able to work independently, with minimal oversight.
