Why This Role Matters:

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Pricing Actuary and Manager to oversee the company’s pricing function and lead a team of actuarial students. This role will be responsible for conducting ratemaking analyses, monitoring portfolio profitability, and providing strategic recommendations to improve performance. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of pricing methodologies, regulatory requirements, and predictive modeling, and will be comfortable collaborating with senior leadership and technical teams. This position reports to the Chief Actuary & Chief Risk Officer.

How You’ll Contribute:

  • Analyze underwriting results to identify underperforming business segments and recommend pricing or strategic changes to improve profitability
  • Perform ratemaking analyses and recommend changes to rating rules, values, and structures
  • Communicate pricing strategies and insights to senior management and external partners
  • Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 actuarial students
  • Oversee the development and submission of rate and rule filings, including responding to regulatory interrogatories
  • Conduct technical and peer reviews of actuarial work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and sound methodology
  • Represent the company externally in support of pricing-related matters, including rate filings and regulatory engagements
  • Collaborate with other actuaries, data scientists, and business partners on pricing, product development, and data initiatives
  • Develop or enhance actuarial tools and models to support pricing, segmentation, and reporting

What We’re Looking For:

  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS)
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in an actuarial role
  • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
  • At least 10 years of actuarial experience, including 5+ years focused on ratemaking or pricing
  • Prior experience managing and mentoring actuarial students
  • Experience with workers’ compensation insurance
  • Familiarity with predictive modeling techniques and programming tools such as R, Python, or SQL
