TEDRA (Trade Enrichment Data Reporting & Allocations) is part of the Institutional Securities Technology (IST) Division. It is responsible for maintaining, distributing, and reporting on trading, revenue, risk, and reference data (client, product, and pricing). As the authoritative source of key data sets, we are at the forefront of database technology and are heavily involved in data engineering, data science, data visualization, and machine learning efforts across the Firm. TEDRA is also responsible for front and middle office post-execution applications that facilitate straight-through processing for multiple asset classes. This infrastructure is critical for electronic trading, high frequency trading in particular.
The Global Datamart team within TEDRA is looking for talented data engineers to join our global team who manage KDB+ systems. We have many ETL jobs which are adding data to a central KDB+ partitioned database and replicating it globally. There are extra processes for real time analysis and reporting, as well as a framework to cache and display data on many dashboards. We work closely with the Strats in Hong Kong/London/New York to ensure our KDB+ infrastructure is delivering on business asks and is resilient/future proof.
The responsibilities include -
> Develop current kdb+ based infrastructure to ensure support for queries from native Q and other languages (including Java,C#, python) and enhance the architecture to support a low latency, fast ingestion, highly available database. The goal is to provide easy access to a broad range of trading analytics, pricing and market information for the business units to help them make informed business decisions.
> Develop tools for data acquisition/loading, data quality, and production support covering a broad range of asset classes, data types, and frequencies that meet current and future trading, analytic, and operational needs
> Develop modularized, micro service based components
Responsibilities Include -
- KDB+ Infrastructure Engineering for stability, scalability and capacity planning.
- KDB+ functions: plan & execute database schema changes, bottleneck analysis, outage prevention/resolution, server/database performance improvements, database maintenance, database recovery, etc.
- KDB+ development (stored procedures, ETL, tools) and queries/stored procedures review and optimization.
- Enforce database security, standards & guidelines. Technical Skills Requirement:
- Scripting on linux platforms in languages such as Perl/Python and Unix
- Strong knowledge base of relational database performance and tuning such as: proper use of indices, database statistics/reorgs, de-normalization concepts, memory management, database configurations, etc. - Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent
- 1-3 years experience or more in a similar field, particularly computing and database background
- Familiarity with KDB+
