The Canada Life Reinsurance Data Management Team is looking for a Data Management Analyst.
The Canada Life Reinsurance Data Management team works with internal Reinsurance clients by providing high-quality data services and operational support.
Reporting to the Manager of Traditional Life & Annuity Data Management, the Data Management Analyst will be responsible for the loading of data files for Traditional Life Reinsurance business, processing In-production SWAPs, and creating inforce extracts used in the quarterly reserve calculation process. This role is aligned to our Regina Head Office location.
What you will do
- Analyze clients incoming data and use their file layout to map into a common format database.
- Load inforce and transaction files into production using Alteryx Designer Software on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Create inforce extracts and modified inforce extracts on a quarterly basis.
- Create Termination extracts and perform reconciliation of the Term Extracts.
- Create pivot table and format reserves.
- Update and document client information as it changes.
- Perform other duties and projects as may be assigned.
- Loading and Processing of reporting as it is received from Dublin throughout the year for all In-Production SWAPs.
- Load, process and create inforce extracts for the Dublin team.
- Conduct high level review of output to ensure functionality of the SWAP application.
- Investigate any questions received from Dublin.
- Develop reports and queries.
- Documenting procedures and streamlining business processes.
- Manage internal and external Reinsurance requests for information.
- Maintain turn-around times for delivering output files, extracts, and loading of data files.
What you will bring
- Post-secondary degree and/or an analytical discipline with computer courses
- Knowledge of individual insurance products and reinsurance administration an asset.
- Industry related courses or LOMA designations (FLMI, ARA, ACS) would be an asset.
- 3 -4 Years working in a Reinsurance business environment preferred.
- Previous Business Analyst and Data Management experience an asset.
- Working knowledge of Alteryx Designer Software.
- Microsoft Office skills, proficient and/or advanced knowledge of Access and Excel; pivot tables, formatting and developing queries
- Strong team player.
- Experience with Testing and Documentation.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Resourceful and accountable for actions.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proven ability to create and maintain internal and external customer relationships.
- Excellent analytical skills with high attention to details and desire to produce quality work.
- Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to identify and manage shifting priorities to meet time standards.

The base salary for this position is between $47,400 - $71,100 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
