As a US-based warranty provider, we provide expertise in safety and homecare to our customers. Our integrated solutions meet customer needs both inside and outside the home. Inside the home we protect critical aspects of home function such as plumbing, heating and cooling, appliances, power surges, hot water heater, and interior electrical. Outside the home we provide protection for critical lines (water, gas, wells, sewers, electric and septic). We primarily go to market B2B2C, partnering mostly with water/gas/electric utilities and municipalities to offer our product leveraging their brand for marketing and often adding our subscription fee to the water/gas/electric bill itself. Position Summary
We are a private equity-owned home warranty company with an agile data science team that drives innovation across the business. Our team owns the full data science product lifecycle—from ideation to deployment. We’re seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development and management of machine learning models for our direct mail campaigns and other marketing channels, with a strong focus on distributed systems and cutting-edge machine learning technologies.
This role is based in Naperville, IL office. A regular in-office schedule (Mon-Fri) is required, as our office environment is a key driver of our company culture and employee experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning models for direct mail targeting and optimization
- Design and implement scalable machine learning pipelines using Ray.io and Anyscale for distributed training and inference
- Execute with cross-functional teams on omni channel strategy, channel optimization and ROI driven targeting to boost growth
- Leverage large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to enhance personalization and targeting strategies
- Align model outputs with business goals in collaboration with marketing, engineering, and analytics teams
- Conduct rigorous A/B testing and statistical analysis to validate model performance
- Monitor model drift and performance in production and implement retraining strategies
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the team’s technical roadmap

Experience and Qualifications of the Role
- 5+ years of experience in applied machine learning as a full stack data scientist, with use cases in marketing or growth analytics
- Proven ability to independently develop and deploy ML models
- Strong experience with Ray.io, Anyscale, or similar distributed computing frameworks
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face Transformers) and their applications in real-world use cases such as chatbot/helper for customers
- Deep understanding of statistical modeling, experimentation, and causal inference
- Ability to translate business requirements to technical specifications
- Ability to communicate complex and nuanced messaging to a diverse audience of senior leadership stakeholders
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the home warranty, insurance, or other financial services industries and hands-on experience with direct mail acquisition.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Experience with MLOps tools and cloud platforms (AWS)
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)

The base pay range for this position is $100,000 - $175,000 USD Annual. The specific pay offered will depend on qualifications, experience, education and skill set. The compensation offered may also include an annual performance-based bonus, sales incentive plan or commission target.
