As a data engineer at Booz Allen, youâll help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. Youâll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.Â
Here, youâll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. Youâll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.Â

You Have:âŻâŻÂ
5+ years of experience working with Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem, including CDH or CDP, using tools such as HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, and HBase
Experience developing scalable ETL or ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
Experience integrating Cloudera in government data lake or analytic environments
Experience developing in Python, Java, or Scala in a distributed computing environment
Experience working within Agile or SAFe teams
Knowledge of Cloudera security components, including Ranger, Kerberos, and data masking, and data ingestion tools such as NiFi, Sqoop, or Kafka
Ability to support STIG compliance and DoD security standards

Bachelorâs degree Â
CompTIA Security+ CE Certification

Experience with Python, SQL, Scala, or JavaÂ
Experience with UNIX or Linux, including basic commands and Shell scriptingÂ
Experience with a public cloud, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google CloudÂ
Experience with distributed data or computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or KafkaÂ
Experience working on real-time data and streaming applicationsâŻÂ
Experience with NoSQL implementation, including MongoDB or CassandraÂ
Experience with data warehousing using AWS Redshift, MySQL, or SnowflakeâŻÂ
Experience with Agile engineering practicesÂ

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individualâs particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allenâs total compensation package for employees.
