Job Description:

The incumbent of this position is responsible for the performing work in coding and updating, repairing, modifying, and expanding existing applications (including but not limited to company websites and company developed software and applications) as well as implementing new applications. This job also includes other routine programming and/or support related tasks.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Development and implementation of system applications and or web applications

  • Diagnose and resolve in-house application problems

  • Maintain knowledge of current programming techniques

  • Provide technical assistance to employees regarding in-house software/websites

  • Maintain current in-house software/websites.

  • Demonstrates interest in long term and short term goals and objectives of the company

  • Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) implementation including business analysis, requirements analysis, design, modeling, testing and documentation

  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Leadership.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of traditional languages with emphasis in learning new, object-oriented programming languages and tools

  • Familiar with Windows/Linux based client/Server development languages that involve graphic user interface and systems programming

  • Knowledge of a variety of operating and database systems and programming languages including but not limited to MS SQL/MySQL, .NET, PHP, and HTML

  • Ability to configure applications to work with different types of hardware/software

  • Skilled to adapt an application and/or web app to meet the needs of the company

  • Capability to work on exacting analytical work

  • Ingenuity and creativity required when testing design solutions for potential failures

  • Ability to work with abstract concepts and do technical analysis

  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal as well as listening skills

  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to independently complete all assigned tasks and meet deadlines

  • Ability to deal with stressful timelines and demanding work loads

  • Responds to email, phone calls and text communication in a timely and courteous manner

  • Exhibits a positive helpful attitude toward fellow employees in all circumstances

  • Knows how to ask for assistance from others and take constructive advice

  • Ability to travel

  • Some weekend and evening work as needed to meet project timelines

  • Possible need for on call duties as workload requires

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field; OR

  • High School diploma with at least two (2) years experience working with applications programming and software

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

  • All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration - Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
