Job Summary:

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm.
Responsible for ongoing support to the Infection Prevention/Quality data analytic activities and data analytics to support the Infection Prevention and clinical efforts of population management.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Crimson database tool and Quality data base tools: Assists MJE and MHS Quality leadership in generating and sharing meaningful reports outlining performance at various levels of population management.
Conducts on-going surveillance activities by applying approved criteria to clinical data to ensure identification of nosocomial infection.
Prepares epidemiology reports by utilizing epidemiological and statistical knowledge to aggregate, statistically analyze, synthesize, and interpret surveillance data to ensure accurate, concise, meaningful information.
Serves as resource to Health System and community by utilizing current professional journals, professional organization's guidelines/standards, regulatory agencies and accrediting agencies requirements in order to provide quality infection control management. Assure compliance with JCAHO and OSHA standards as they relate to Infection Control.
Conducts investigations according to department procedures to provide management of actual and potential infections.
Conducts and communicates findings of annual on-site visits of clinical and supporting departments according to epidemiological principles and standards of practice to ensure compliance or identify opportunities for improvement. Serves as a resource to hospital personnel regarding isolation/precaution policy.
Designs, plans, presents, and evaluates assigned educational activities for staff and community clients to ensure desired objectives and outcomes met as identified by audience and client utilizing adult learning principles and characteristics of audience.
Guides the implementation of evidence based practices for identified improvement opportunities related to Infection Prevention across the organization. Utilizes appropriate Performance Improvement principles.

Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- A clinical background would be considered a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare with comprehensive knowledge of data analytics, reporting.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (SixSigma, Lean) preferred.
License/Certifications
- Six-Sigma or Lean certification is preferred. If not certified, candidate would be encouraged to work towards certification upon employment.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to utilize MS Access, Excel, SQL, and other data programs, sources and statistical applications (SPSS) to create both financial projections and clinical reports.
- Knowledge of clinical coding systems for both inpatient and outpatient services, including International Classification of Disease (ICD9 and ICD10) diagnosis and procedure codes, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, revenue codes, and National Drug Codes (NDC Rx) preferred.
- Knowledge of medical claim file contents (both UB04 and HCFA-1500) and significance of individual fields preferred.
- Knowledge of Business Object Tools would be a plus.
- Strong communication ability is required to share reports with physicians and senior leadership team to support decision making process.
