JOB SUMMARY

This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, and requires regular in-office presence

We're seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Manager of AI Delivery & Operations to play a pivotal role in scaling our enterprise AI initiatives. In this high-profile role, you will be the central point of contact, driving transparency and alignment across the organization while managing relationships with key stakeholders. As the orchestrator of the AI Center of Excellence, you will lead a small but mighty team, codifying best practices, owning reporting systems, and ensuring the success of our AI growth. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
  • Process & Knowledge Management: Codify and maintain best practices and processes for AI project management, including methodologies, templates, and documentation. Develops and maintains frameworks and processes for AI projects, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements. Establishes and maintains a centralized knowledge repository for AI projects, including project plans, deliverables, and lessons learned. Develops and implements training programs for project managers and stakeholders on AI project management best practices.
  • Reporting & Systems: Owns and manages reporting including progress updates, key performance indicators (KPIs), and financial performance.  Develops and maintains dashboards and reporting systems to track project progress and performance. Manages and optimizes project management software and tools to enhance efficiency and visibility.
  • Vendor Oversight: Manage relationships with strategic AI vendors, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with contractual obligations. Develop and implement processes for vendor performance monitoring and reporting in partnership with our vendor management office, procurement, and other critical parties.  Maintain a comprehensive inventory of active AI vendors, including their capabilities, contracts, and performance metrics.
  • Product Management: Maintains a curated product of approved AI tools, ensuring their alignment with organizational needs and compliance with regulatory requirements.  Manage the lifecycle of approved AI tools, including updates, maintenance, and retirement.

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 5 years of experience in project/portfolio management, preferably in the healthcare or technology industry.
  • 3 years of experience in management or leadership role.
  • 3 years of Orchestrating and leading change management plans and interventions.

Preferred

  • 3 years of experience in digital transformation at scale.

SKILLS

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project, Monday.com).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, IT professionals, and data scientists.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong presentation skills to convey insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage AI projects from inception to deployment, including planning, budgeting, and risk management (technology and people).


EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelors degree in business, information technology, data science, or related field

Preferred

  • Masters degree in business, information technology, data science, or related field

Pay Range Minimum:

$92,300.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$172,500.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.  The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
