The Quantitative Analytics Summer Internship Program provides interns the opportunity to experience PNC's Balance Sheet Analytics and Modeling (BSAM) organization. BSAM contains seasoned quantitative professionals that turn internal and external data into actionable recommendations for portfolio, capital allocation, and risk-based decisions. The groups act as trusted partners to PNC’s lending and credit functions to provide analytical foresight and insight to make effective decisions related to risk appetite, return, profitable growth, portfolio optimization, and strategy. This group has seen tremendous growth recently as PNC has rapidly increased sophistication in modeling and analytics.
As a Quantitative Analytics intern, you will have the opportunity to
- interact with PNC’s senior management.
- learn from best-in-class quantitative analysts, portfolio managers, and data scientists; and
- experience first-hand the tools used to manage a top bank’s balance sheet.
Quantitative Analytics interns will be placed in one of the following areas for the duration of the internship:
- Consumer and Commercial Analytics
- Portfolio Management
- Model Development
- Credit Process Management
- Data Management
- Marketing Analytics
- Line of Business Analytics
The Quantitative Analytics Summer Internship Program is primarily offered in Pittsburgh, PA and Tysons, VA.

Job Profile:
Participates as an intern in the PNC summer internship program.
- Performs or assists the core activities of the group by applying knowledge learned to drive business results (e.g., process support, internal customer interaction, or supporting internal projects). Works under supervision and may have limited approval and/or exception authority.
- Participates in social learning within the organization (e.g., identifies and networks with business representatives and peers, participates in mentoring, job shadowing and community outreach).
Required Education and Experience:
- Working toward bachelor’s degree, preferably STEM or business majors (e.g. Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business). Other majors can be considered if there is a strong proven interest in analytics.
- Junior status.
- Minimum GPA 3.2.
- Experience in data analysis, preferably using SQL, Python, R, and/or Tableau.
