Job Description Summary

The Senior Data Scientist will be a key member of the Management Consulting team, leading data science and analytics projects that support Alira Health's consulting activities in Pharma R&D, Digital Health, and Commercial Excellence. This role involves translating business requirements into technical specifications and managing the design and development of data processing pipelines to deliver solutions and studies based on ML/Generative AI and analytics. The Senior Data Scientist will also be responsible for building and leading a data science team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* 

• Collaborate with business functions to translate requirements into clear technical specifications 

• Design and implement AI agents and data processing pipelines within AWS environments 

• Develop AI/ML predictive algorithms for offline studies and online application integration 

• Create and maintain Business Intelligence dashboards to deliver actionable insights to clients 

• Serve as a subject matter expert supporting consultants on strategic client assignments 

• Lead solution management for internal AI development projects, including project and procurement management responsibilities 

• Analyze complex datasets including epidemiological information, market data, biological evidence, and digital application data 

• Mentor and develop junior data scientists 

• Perform additional duties as assigned 

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

• Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related STEM field. PhD or MBA will be considered as a highly valuable plus. 

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Science and Analytics roles. Academic or professional background in Biology and/or Healthcare. 

• Proficiency in Python and core data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Selenium) 

• Experience with AI agent orchestration frameworks and libraries 

• Expertise integrating large language models into processing pipelines 

• Knowledge of AWS or comparable cloud environments 

• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL 

• Proficiency in Power BI or similar Business Intelligence platforms 

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills 

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities 

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
