Job Description Summary

The Senior Data Scientist will be a key member of the Management Consulting team, leading data science and analytics projects that support Alira Health's consulting activities in Pharma R&D, Digital Health, and Commercial Excellence. This role involves translating business requirements into technical specifications and managing the design and development of data processing pipelines to deliver solutions and studies based on ML/Generative AI and analytics. The Senior Data Scientist will also be responsible for building and leading a data science team.Ā 

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*Ā 

  • Collaborate with business functions to translate requirements into clear technical specificationsĀ 

  • Design and implement AI agents and data processing pipelines within AWS environmentsĀ 

  • Develop AI/ML predictive algorithms for offline studies and online application integrationĀ 

  • Create and maintain Business Intelligence dashboards to deliver actionable insights to clientsĀ 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert supporting consultants on strategic client assignmentsĀ 

  • Lead solution management for internal AI development projects, including project and procurement management responsibilitiesĀ 

  • Analyze complex datasets including epidemiological information, market data, biological evidence, and digital application dataĀ 

  • Mentor and develop junior data scientistsĀ 

  • Perform additional duties as assignedĀ 

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESĀ 

  • Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related STEM field. PhD or MBA will be considered as a highly valuable plus.Ā 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Science and Analytics roles. Academic or professional background in Biology and/or Healthcare.Ā 

  • Proficiency in Python and core data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Selenium)Ā 

  • Experience with AI agent orchestration frameworks and librariesĀ 

  • Expertise integrating large language models into processing pipelinesĀ 

  • Knowledge of AWS or comparable cloud environmentsĀ 

  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQLĀ 

  • Proficiency in Power BI or similar Business Intelligence platformsĀ 

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skillsĀ 

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilitiesĀ 

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)Ā
