Job Title: Software Engineering MTS

The Salesforce Digital Enterprise Technology Finance Engineering team is seeking a talented and experienced developer on the force.com platform who will utilize Salesforce tools and best practices to develop, enhance, and integrate financial business applications. This role is suited for developers possessing extensive Salesforce experience who are prepared to assume increased ownership of technical solutions, mentor less experienced colleagues, and engage with advanced domains such as AI-driven automation, MuleSoft integrations with Salesforce, and DevOps processes.. This job requires that you be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, manage ambiguity and work in a fast-changing environment. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements by collaborating with finance and cross-functional teams, translating them into scalable Salesforce solutions.

• Design, develop, and optimize applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and Flow automation, with strong adherence to governor limits and security standards.

• Lead technical implementation of new features, integrations, and system enhancements while ensuring code quality through effective testing and code review practices.

• Integrate Salesforce with external systems using APIs, MuleSoft, and ETL tools; troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges.

• Champion declarative automation via Flow Builder, and Approval Processes, ushering in seamless process automation for business users.

• Mentor and guide peer developers, reviewing their code, sharing best practices, and fostering a high-quality engineering environment.

• Maintain and optimize data quality and security through sound data management practices and proactive identification of potential risks.

• Contribute to Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives; work closely with Product Owners to refine requirements.

• Keep current with Salesforce advancements—including AI innovations (Agentforce, Einstein GPT), Data Cloud, and DevOps Center—evaluating their applicability and mentoring the team on adoption when relevant.

• Document solutions and support knowledge sharing across technical and business teams.

• Solid understanding of a major technology employed in Salesforce development: Java, Force.com, Front-End technologies (Object-Oriented Javascript, CSS), SOQL.

• Basic understanding of the architecture of the major functional platform(s) within Finance.

• Understanding of data models.

• Create and maintain test deliverables and artifacts (test plans, test cases, test results summary) to test complex applications and system integrations for Finance.

• Perform test coverage analysis.

• Assist in the implementation and maintaining any new QA tools and processes.

• Make code changes with a testing mindset.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 4–7 years of hands-on experience developing and designing solutions on the Salesforce platform, ideally in financial or enterprise environments.

• Solid knowledge and practical experience with:

  • Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce.

  • Flows Builder approvals and other declarative automation.

  • Salesforce integration patterns, REST/SOAP APIs, and tools like MuleSoft.

  • Extensive understanding of OO design, design patterns, data modeling

  • Extensive understanding of HTML, CSS, XML, and JavaScript

• Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps processes, including version control (Git/Bitbucket), CI/CD pipelines, and application lifecycle management.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and code review skills.

• Proven ability to coach and mentor less experienced developers.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, including active sprint participation and task management with tools like JIRA.

• Good understanding of Salesforce security, sharing models, data quality, and platform best practices.

• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Salesforce Platform Developer II or Administrator certification; other advanced or specialist Salesforce certifications are an advantage.

• Experience with financial cloud or accounting platforms within Salesforce.

• Hands-on experience with MuleSoft, Tableau, or other integration/analytic tools.

• Exposure to Salesforce AI features (Agentforce, Einstein) and Data Cloud analytics.

• Involvement with DevOps Center or Salesforce DX.

• Basic understanding of finance system architectures and data models.

• Involvement with global or distributed engineering teams.
