The Role

Kodex is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Data Scientist – Product & Platform Analytics to lead data-driven decision-making across our platform. You’ll help define how we measure success, uncover insights that shape our product roadmap, and partner across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing to optimize business performance. You will also play a critical role in scaling our analytics infrastructure and developing models to uncover behavioral patterns, detect anomalies, and drive intelligence into our products.

This is a highly visible, high-impact role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds clarity from data, and influences product direction through evidence-backed insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Refine ambiguous questions and generate hypotheses through a deep understanding of our data, customers, and product dynamics.

  • Define how teams measure success by developing and maintaining KPIs and user/business metrics in close partnership with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing.

  • Lead the design and interpretation of A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate product features and business strategies.

  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to improve the availability, reliability, and accuracy of logging, data pipelines, and data infrastructure.

  • Build large-scale data architectures and modeling frameworks to identify user behavior patterns, flag anomalies, and surface risk signals across Kodex workflows.

  • Perform deep-dive analysis to uncover user behavior patterns, operational inefficiencies, and product opportunities.

  • Develop compelling, data-driven stories and present findings to senior leadership to guide product strategy and business decisions.

  • Build and maintain dashboards and automated reports that enable real-time monitoring of platform health, product performance, and business impact.

  • Support prioritization of product and optimization initiatives through clear, actionable insights grounded in rigorous analysis.

  • Support and guide other technical team members to foster a strong data culture across the organization.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience or Master’s/PhD with 4+ years of experience in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics.

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and scikit-learn.

  • Expertise in experimental design, causal inference, and applied statistics, including real-world implementation of A/B testing and observational studies.

  • Strong data modeling and analytical problem-solving skills, with a track record of generating insights that have influenced high-stakes product and business decisions.

  • Proven experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Databricks, Looker, Tableau) to create impactful visual stories.

  • Experience with data pipeline architecture and workflow orchestration (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Spark) is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across disciplines and levels of seniority.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving quickly in a fast-paced, startup environment.
