General Details: 

• Fully remote position.
• Working hours (40 hours/week any timezone) 
• Employment type: Contractor.
• Compensation in USD.

Responsibilities

• Lead a local engineering team of 8+ across backend, frontend, ML, and MLOps.
• Own planning, prioritization, and delivery cycles (sprints, reviews, retrospectives).
• Ensure strong collaboration, high performance, and team alignment.
• Implement and improve engineering processes and workflows.
• Provide direct support and unblock engineers during execution.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
• Coordinate closely with the VP of Engineering and CTO on priorities and strategy.
• Act as the local escalation and operational point of contact in Colombia.
• Help recruit and onboard new engineers as the team scales.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of experience managing technical teams.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering groups (backend, frontend, ML).
• Strong understanding of agile delivery and sprint-based planning.
• Technical knowledge in modern development environments, APIs, DevOps, and cloud
platforms.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience working in distributed and asynchronous teams.
