Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Insight Generation:
- Lead the development and execution of strategic and technical marketplace understanding, encompassing primary and secondary research methodologies, alongside strategic and tactical forecasting and analytics.
- Proactively analyze complex market data from diverse sources, transforming it into actionable intelligence that directly supports business strategy and performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide mid-to-long range forecasting of key platform markets and market share across priority geographies.
- Market Research & Competitive Intelligence:
- Lead comprehensive primary and secondary market research initiatives to develop a profound understanding of market dynamics, customer preferences, and competitive landscapes within specific business units.
- Collect and analyze data on market trends, customer preferences, and competitive products, including designing surveys, conducting interviews, and interpreting large sets of quantitative data.
- Continuously monitor and stay current with industry trends, the competitive landscape, and broader market dynamics to proactively identify and address emerging opportunities and threats.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Influence:
- Influence multiple stakeholders and senior leaders by providing consultative thought partnership and facilitating discussions to drive initiatives forward and enable better data-driven decisions.
- Collaborate across departments to understand client needs and deliver tailored intelligence, building and maintaining effective relationships with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Data Management & Reporting Excellence:
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports, converting complex data and findings into clear tables, graphs, and comprehensive written reports for various audiences.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track trends, and make proactive, data-backed recommendations for strategic and operational improvements.
- Help automate repetitive reporting processes and continuously improve overall data workflows for greater efficiency, contributing to the evolution of Business Intelligence (BI) best practices and governance frameworks.
Qualifications
- Education:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing, or a closely related field is required.
- A Master’s Degree (MBA or MS) in Data Science, Business Intelligence, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related analytical discipline is preferred.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in market research, forecasting, strategic insights, business analytics, or a similar role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Experience in New Product Development and Innovation processes is preferred.
- Proven track record of working effectively in a matrix organizational environment, where a high degree of collaboration and influence is consistently required.
Essential Skills
- Technical Proficiency:
- Data Analysis & Visualization: Proficiency in industry-leading analytical and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
- Statistical & Scripting Languages: Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R for advanced data analysis and statistical modeling is preferred, along with proficiency in statistical analysis software such as SPSS or SAS.
- Database Querying: Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for extracting, joining, and aggregating data from various sources, with a solid understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
