Liver Metabolism and Infections Team and Medical Molecular Imaging Team

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Scientist to participate in the ARTEMIs project (AcceleRating the Translation of virtual twins towards a pErsonalized Management of fatty lIver patientS). This project aims to control this fast-growing metabolic syndrome and its cardiovascular complications by leveraging advanced liver and heart Virtual Twins.

Education and qualifications:

Required:
  • Master's and Bachelor’s Degree in health related sciences, statistics, biomedical engineer, or maths
  • Master’s Degree in AI, Big Data, Bioinformatics and Biostatistics or similar
  • Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English
  • Willingness to pursue a PhD
  • Good academic and master thesis scores (desired > 8.5 of average)
Experience and knowledge:

Required:

  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence (deep learning and machine learning) and Big Data
  • Proficiency in data analysis software: R, Python, Matlab or SQL.
  • Methodical, organized and with good teamwork skills
Desired:
  • At least 2 years of experience working with clinical data and corporative databases
  • Scientific publications
  • Experience in basic research (i.e. working in bioinformatics pipelines)
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently and within a team
 
Main responsibilities and duties:
  • Manage databases; ensure data integrity, security and availability.
  • Participate directly in the development of digital tools based on artificial intelligence.
  • Building AI algorithms
  • Analysis of data and Images
  • Communicate with researchers from various departments of the hospital and with ARTEMIs Consortium Partners.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Scientific manuscripts writing.
  • Attend to and participate to the unit regular activities.
  • Participate in the team meetings
  Labour conditions:
  • Full-time: 40h/week.
  • Starting date: immediate.
  • Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale
  • ContractTechnical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
