SUMMARY

The Manager of Value‐Based Care Reporting is responsible for developing and maintaining timely, accurate and insightful operational reports to help drive cost savings and quality improvement activities.  This position will work effectively with VBC across functional team and internal stakeholders and thrive in an ambiguous fast paced environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

  • Lead reporting development project with limited guidance, work with business stakeholders to gather and document report requirements, create reporting plan and timeline, develop queries to create metrics, build scalable data models, and deploy through BI tools such as Power BI and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and improve existing operational reports and data process workflow, address analytics and report questions and concerns from operational users accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a functional SME in specific reporting and analytics areas, help train junior members in the team with needed skills including but not limited to data queries skills, data modeling skills and BI development skills, peer review other team members’ scripts and dashboard workbook.
  • Develop ad hoc reports or analysis, create insights from large payer either raw or in database, or clinical datasets, to identify and explain operational inefficiencies, productivity opportunities, quality gaps, medical cost drivers as needed.
  • Accountable in sub area within reporting, take initiative for team leadership opportunities, help leader develop continuous improvement process and contribute to building a high performing team
  • Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders such as clinical, market operators, IDT team, product, operational excellence team, to support business needs and priorities.
  • Assist in developing presentations for both internal and external stakeholders such as provider partners, dialysis facilities and health plans to explain operational performance indicators, cost and quality outcome metrics.
  • Be self-motivated, creative problem solver who can work independently and demonstrate project management skills to handle complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills in effectively communicating with various audiences in a language they can understand. Be effective at translating complex or technical issues into common terms. Communicate in a compelling, simple manner.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required for the job.
Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, information technology, public health or related quantitative field
  • Four (4) plus years of analytics and reporting experience working with claim data, electronic medical record data and other clinical data sources.
  • Advanced SQL skills required, with deep understanding of large relational databases and data architecture are required.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI or similar platforms to design develop and deploy production level dashboards.
  • Experience working with enterprise data warehouse; a good understanding of ETL process and dimensional modeling are preferred.
  • Experience in developing enterprise reporting suites that support organizational decision making at multiple levels.
  • Advanced data analyst skills required with a higher level of proficiency with Excel and analytical abstraction, analysis, and visualization tools.
  • Use of the following tools preferred: Snowflake DB query environment, Python.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
