About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Software Engineer who will support (EFT) The Enterprise Functions Technology group. EFT provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Public Affairs and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management.

Finance Technology organization within EFT is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, develop & implement data solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
  • Design, develop & implement complex data processing solutions using Apache Spark.
  • Ensure solutions are highly usable, scalable, and maintainable. Perform code and design reviews to ensure performance, maintainability, and standards.
  • Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices.
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines.
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and modern technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture and meeting non-functional requirements with each release.
  • Serve as a peer mentor for agile development team or teams.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with building high performing ETL/Data pipelines using Apache Spark and Big data ETL solutions.
  • 5+ years of design and development experience with Python/PySpark/Scala.
  • 5+ years of experience working with at least one of the big data technologies like Hadoop/HDFS/Hive/Iceberg/Kafka.
  • 5+ years of experience in Translating business concepts to technical implementations to drive alignment and decision making.
  • 3+ years of experience with Informatica.
  • 3+ yrs of experience leading high-performing, agile software teams.


Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Database Engineering experience environments (SQL Server, Oracle)
  • 3+ years of experience with Python & Unix/Shell scripting.
  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools including GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar, UDeploy, Liquibase, Harness, Maven or Gradle.
  • A Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement large scale/complex software applications.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with data lake technologies (i.e., Dremio), Iceberg S3 Table.
  • Experience with Autosys/Control M/Airflow or any job scheduling software
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, NetApp, or similar cloud platform
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting requirements within Financial Services industry

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$133,300.00 - $237,100.00
