AI Engineer

As an AI engineer, you know that good software is more than just a nice-looking interface + data. Booz Allen is the leading provider of AI services to the nation—we’re looking for a software engineer like you to create artificial intelligence solutions for the government's toughest problems.

On our team, you’ll help create and implement complete end-to-end solutions that modernize client systems. You’ll ensure that your team’s solutions consider the broader ecosystem and operating environment as well as future functionality and enhancements. Additionally, you’ll broaden your skill set in the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies.

You Have:   

  • 2+ years of experience deploying AI models, engineering workflows, and data pipelines 
  • 1+ years of experience fine-tuning traditional models and LLMs or RA  
  • 1+ years of experience implementing security protocols and guardrails for Generative AI applications
  • Experience with programming languages, including Python or Scala 
  • Experience with cloud stacks such as AWS and Azure 
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes 
  • Experience architecting AI-enabled applications, writing clean, efficient source code, and optimizing AI models and data workflows 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements   
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science
  • ML, AI, or Solution Architecture certification

Nice If You Have:   

  • Experience with AI Governance  
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and collaborative software development practices 
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning models 
  • Knowledge of AI security tooling and frameworks 
  • Knowledge of Generative AI and agentic frameworks 
  • Knowledge of AI systems architecture, AI platforms, or MLflow 
  • Ability to display an interest in Enterprise-Level AI implementation 
  • Ability to acquire client requirements and resolve workflow problems through AI-driven automation 
  • Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance 
  • Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
