AI Product Manager – Generative AI Platforms

Responsibilities

About the Team:
The team builds innovative AI solutions on ByteDance’s cloud platform, including Model-as-a-Service (MaaS), prompt optimization tools, and other generative AI products. We focus on enabling enterprise users to easily develop and deploy AI applications by delivering scalable, user-centric solutions through close collaboration with engineering, design, and business teams.
We are looking for a talented and entrepreneurial AI Product Manager to build and scale next-generation AI services on ByteDance's cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities:
Drive Product Strategy
- Define and evolve product strategy for AI platforms (e.g., MaaS, prompt orchestration) with a focus on commercialization and scalable enterprise adoption.

Enterprise User Understanding
- Work directly with customers to deeply understand their workflows and use cases. Translate insights into intuitive and high-performing product experiences.

Platform & Ecosystem Development
- Build platform-level capabilities that lower the barrier for businesses to adopt large models, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, deployment , and cost optimization.

Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate closely with engineering, solution architects, sales, and marketing to define requirements, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery.

Go-to-Market Planning
Develop go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and packaging in collaboration with commercial teams. Drive product launches with clear positioning and business impact.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Strong technical fluency in AI/ML and large model architectures.
- At least 2 years of experience in software product management, ideally in AI or cloud services.
- Proven ability to design enterprise-grade products, with an excellent sense of product usability and user experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence across functions.
- Deep understanding of the generative AI ecosystem, including LLM APIs, fine-tuning, RAG, vector databases, and prompt engineering.

Preferred Qualification:
- Prior experience in cloud platform commercialization is a strong plus.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $149040 - $311600 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).​
