Senior BI and Data Product Analyst

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity to join a growing Business Intelligence (BI) team and contribute to data-driven change and innovation. The BI and Data Product Analyst will play a key role in delivering high-quality Business Intelligence and Reporting services to both internal and external stakeholders at RWS. This role involves helping the organization leverage data to uncover trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and proactively address potential issues. The analyst will be responsible for gathering requirements, managing stakeholder expectations, and coordinating the scheduling and delivery of data projects.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong stakeholder relationships to understand business challenges and collaboratively define and document precise business requirements for specific projects.
• Provide leadership and take initiative in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation, and presentation of findings across all levels of the organization.
• Design, develop, model, and create data structures to integrate, prepare, and generate reports.
• Develop and build dashboards and visualizations using Sisense or similar BI tools.
• Collaborate with business teams to ensure they can effectively utilize project outputs to support data-driven decision-making.
• Break down requirements, simplify architectures, and work with other teams to deliver intelligent data solutions aligned with defined objectives and outcomes.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to fully understand data content and context.
• Identify performance, visualization, and reporting challenges, and recommend improvements to code and architecture.
• Prepare reports for internal and external audiences using business analytics and reporting tools.
• Analyze large datasets, draw valid insights, and present findings clearly to business stakeholders.
• Produce and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a data or analytics role.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, particularly T-SQL.
• Proficiency with BI tools such as Sisense.
• Experience working with Data Warehouses.
• Data modeling experience is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of ETL tools, including SSIS and FiveTran.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes, assess risks and impacts, and implement effective solutions.
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
• Analytical mindset with a strong interest in exploring data to develop insights and hypotheses.
• Educational background in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field is preferred.
• High attention to detail and strong standards for the presentation of written work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects through to completion.
• Proactive and forward-thinking approach.
• Strong team collaboration skills.
• Ability to contribute effectively both independently and as part of a team.
