Lab Technician/Data Analysis

Job Overview

The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician supports the overall Food Safety Plan through monitoring, record/product review and inspections.

Job Responsibilities

• This position is responsible for maintaining, interpreting, and reporting on key data & verification activities in various systems. 
• Intermediate Microsoft office skills; including Excel and PowerPoint are required. 
• Conduct verification inspections for post sanitation and pre-operation cleans.
• Conduct pre-operational and environmental monitoring swabs 
• Conduct plating of environmental monitoring swabs
• Monitor room, cooler and incubator temperatures.
• Conduct routine testing and monitoring of product and packaging attributes to established specifications
• Conduct daily review of labels and retain product
• Conduct real time review of production records
• Conduct daily line inspections.
• Conduct routine data entry and filing of paper work
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures          
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by plant FSQA leadership.
• Maintain company confidentiality.
• The pay for this position is $23.30/hr to $23.95/hr. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Degree      
• Ability to complete tasks based on standard procedures.   
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work cross-functionally
• Basic Computer skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. 

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree in Food Science or related field 
• SAP experience. 
• HACCP Certification.

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.• Work is performed in a lab setting.• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.• Work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 60-80 degrees F.
