Job Overview:

The BI Analyst plays a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency across the organization. This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining analytical tools and reports, including Power BI dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to provide critical insights into our business operations. The BI Analyst will work closely with operations leaders to provide business analysis expertise, report creation and dashboard design.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Under general direction, responsible for converting business requirements and high-level data collection needs into well-specified analyses, reporting and visualizations.
  • Gathers BI requirements, design solutions, and successfully deploy interactive real-time dashboards and key performance indicators using Microsoft Power BI
  • Maintain a corporate repository of metric definitions, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Work jointly with department heads and analysts to define KPIs and reports for company-wide performance measurement.
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis to answer complex business questions.
  • Understand and transform business needs into user-friendly and effective visualization solutions using BI tools.
  • Stay updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices in data analysis and visualization to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Transportation and Logistics industry preferred.
  • Proficient in designing and developing BI reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, DAX, and other data languages. Solid technical aptitude in SQL/Python/DAX
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, including PowerBi required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including Pivot Tables
  • Experience working in a Microsoft SharePoint environment.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, capable of efficiently collecting, organizing, and analyzing data with accuracy. Proficient in applying insights from data analysis to inform operational strategies and decisions.
  • Proven interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, with a positive attitude towards change management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying informed on industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization.

Physical Demands:

  • Extended Sitting: Primarily desk-based with prolonged computer use.
  • Computer Use: Frequent operation of computers and office equipment, requiring manual dexterity.
  • Eye Strain and Repetitive Motion: Risk from continuous screen use and repetitive tasks like typing.
  • Office Navigation: Light walking and standing for meetings and tasks within the office.
  • Light Lifting: Occasional handling of objects up to 20 pounds.
