Build the Path Forward

At Path Robotics, we’re attacking a trillion dollar opportunity - doing things that have never been done before to support an industry hurting from a lack of skilled labor. Big, hard problems are what Path tackles every day, and our people are our greatest asset to get that job done. Our intelligent, hardworking team of people do the impossible every single day, yet remain incredibly kind, humble, and always ready to support one another.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer, ML Platform to lead the software efforts that bridge advanced ML research with robust, production-ready systems. You will work closely with a team of Machine Learning and Robotics Engineers to design a scalable architecture for production, but also help accelerate research and development.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role who can architect end-to-end systems, establish engineering best practices, and support a team that values research, iteration, and experimentation.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect production-grade systems for machine learning and computer vision workflows, including data processing, model training, and inference pipelines.
  • Lead engineering best practices around code quality, testing, modularity, and documentation to improve team velocity and maintainability.
  • Develop tools for experiment tracking, data versioning, and reproducibility, enabling our research team to iterate efficiently and collaborate effectively.
  • Own CI/CD workflows for ML-heavy Python codebases, ensuring fast and reliable deployment of models and services.
  • Act as the software engineering lead within a research-focused team, serving as the go-to person for engineering decisions and technical mentorship.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years supporting ML or CV workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with modern ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD systems, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Experience designing and scaling production systems—ideally in data- or ML-intensive environments.
  • Familiarity with tools for experiment tracking and data management (e.g., MLflow, Weights & Biases, DVC).
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with research scientists, with a focus on enabling research at scale.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; experience setting technical direction in ambiguous environments

Team Player:

  • Startup Energizer: The idea of joining a growing venture-backed startup excites you because you know your work will have an immediate and significant impact.
  • Collaboration Champion: You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with others to achieve common goals and drive success.
  • Mentorship Minded: You are passionate about helping peers, fostering best practices, and promoting continuous improvement within the team.
  • Quality Advocate: You are dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality, shipping reliable and high-quality code that you can be proud of, knowing that good quality also enables fast delivery.

  • 6 weeks 100% paid parental leave plus an additional 6-8 weeks maternity leave for the birthing parent (12-14 weeks total)
