Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
- 2 years of experience with the design, commissioning, and construction of cooling, heating, or power generation systems and building services design, including HVAC, fire protection, fuel systems, generation systems, and plumbing designs.
- Experience in mission critical facilities and their mechanical infrastructure.
- Experience designing, construction, commissioning and operation of facility mechanical systems including air and water cooled heat rejection systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Experience in thermal analysis and data center cooling systems, and in applying data center technology.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or C++.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Product Suite.
- Knowledge of ICC code suite with particular focus on IMC, IECC, and IFC, ASME B31 piping codes, NFPA, and relevant ASHRAE standards.

As a Mechanical Engineer with a multidisciplinary group of engineers and architects dedicated to designing next-generation data centers, you will play a key role in developing, analyzing, and optimizing the mechanical cooling infrastructure. You will use various analytical tools to reveal important data points in the design process for efficient mechanical systems. You will be a strong communicator, able to articulate complex ideas concisely across all digital mediums and provide recommendations to cross-functional engineers and architects to enhance the data centers' mechanical systems and accelerate construction.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$174,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with partner teams to optimize the existing fleet and future products to meet the market demands of Google’s ML fleet.
- Create system-level concepts and schematic designs, carry them through to detailed construction designs and operations.
- Support the insertion of new technologies by collaborating with core Engineering and Operations teams during development.
- Investigate and lead next-generation mechanical systems to align with company long-term strategies
- Serve as a technical lead for the mechanical infrastructure, collaborate with Planning, Operations, Execution, and Construction teams to develop new data center (DC) mechanical infrastructure systems
