The Opportunity:

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.  We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.  We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the project titled “A Targeted Support System to Bridge the Advice Gap,” sponsored by UKFin+ (EPSRC), to work jointly with Raffaella Calabrese and Fidelity International. The candidate will develop a new tool that Fidelity will adopt to provide targeted support for its customers to fill the financial advice gap. Responsibilities include data analysis, developing models, and contributing to the dissemination and publication of research findings. The role also involves working in tandem with the Head of Product Policy and the Group Head of Strategy and Planning at Fidelity International. This position presents an excellent opportunity for the candidate to contribute to high-impact research and publish in top ranking academic journals. A flexible starting date is 3rd September 2025, with an end date of 15th of June 2026.

 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • A PhD or last year PhD student in Statistics, Operations Research, Computational Sciences or Economics, Management Science or closely related field.
  • Experience of designing and performing data analyses.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python or R.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to publish in high quality peer-reviewed, academic journals.
