Software Development Engineer

Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Engineer to join our nearshore team in developing cutting-edge, AI-driven solutions for our client. This role is instrumental in building tools that increase user satisfaction, streamline workflows, and push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI in the our client’s domain.

You will collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional product teams to design and implement intelligent applications that demonstrate thought leadership and innovation in AI adoption for the domain operations. Your work will be shaped by Agile principles, a commitment to experimentation and customer feedback, and a strong foundation in Responsible AI and data governance.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about simple and elegant software solutions and focus on improving scalability and reliability of the application. The person we are looking for should be a software engineer with a proven experience in the field of agile software development.

• Design and develop high availability deployment and monitoring systems
  
• Architect, develop, and maintain full-stack applications integrating advanced AI capabilities to support client users
  
• Collaborate closely with product owners, legal SMEs, designers, and engineers in Agile, cross-functional teams
  
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies to ensure iterative delivery and rapid feedback cycles
  
• Design and run experiments and prototypes to validate ideas and AI features such as natural language search, document summarization, contract analysis, and predictive legal insights
  
• Collect and analyze customer feedback and telemetry to refine solutions and prioritize enhancements
  
• Leverage Microsoft Azure’s suite of AI and ML services to build scalable, secure, and robust solutions
  
• Integrate and fine-tune foundational models (e.g., GPT, BERT, T5) to handle legal language and use cases
  
• Drive improvements in reliability and agility into all development functions
  
• Diving into an unknown or unexpected application behavior and demystifying the problem to make the application more robust
  
• Create and maintain a series of engineering/system KPIs to monitor the effectiveness and reliability of the application
  

Responsible AI, Security, & Privacy:

•         Ensure all AI solutions adhere to client’s Responsible AI principles, including fairness, reliability, safety, privacy, inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability.

•         Participate in AI ethics reviews, risk assessments, and model documentation (e.g., datasheets, model cards).

•         Conduct security threat modeling and integrate privacy impact assessments (PIAs) throughout the development lifecycle.

•         Implement safeguards to prevent misuse or unintended consequences of AI features, especially in sensitive legal contexts.

•         Collaborate with security, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure applications meet client’s standards for enterprise security and legal data protection.

•         Monitor AI system behavior in production and establish protocols for handling bias, drift, or model degradation.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

·        5+ years of experience in full-stack development using technologies such as C#/.NET, Node.js, React/Angular, and SQL/NoSQL databases

·        Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Proven experience in deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
  
• Proficiency with Azure AI services, including but not limited to:
  
• Azure OpenAI Service
  
• Azure Machine Learning
  
• Azure Cognitive Services (e.g., Language, Vision, Search)
  
• Experience working with foundational language models (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Hugging Face transformers, Microsoft’s Phi or Orca models).
  
• Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies, iterative experimentation, and user validation practices.
  
• Strong understanding of the ML lifecycle, including training, deployment, and monitoring.
  
• Familiarity with Responsible AI practices and enterprise-level security and privacy requirements.
  
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to collaborate across time zones.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in legal tech or experience supporting attorneys or compliance teams.
  
• Experience fine-tuning or prompting LLMs for domain-specific applications.
  
• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks like Semantic Kernel or LangChain.
  
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bicep, Terraform).
  
• Knowledge of human-in-the-loop systems, prompt engineering, or LLMOps
  
•  Ability to operate within short release cycles
  
•  Creativity and initiative to improve product reliability and scalability
