Join us at the forefront of a revolution in the transportation technology industry! Public transit is transforming from a rigid, fixed-route, manually dispatched system to a dynamic, automated, demand-responsive network that adapts to real-time needs. As a Manager of Data & Analytics Engineering at RideCo, you’ll play a key role in driving this change, helping to build the data foundation that powers our innovative solutions. This is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of a team leading the charge toward smarter, faster, and more efficient transit solutions.

Data is the pulse of RideCo’s operations and decision-making, and as a Manager, Data & Analytics Engineering, you’ll lead a growing team of data and analytics engineers who are building scalable, reliable, and trusted data systems. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys improving systems, elevating team capabilities, and contributing directly to high-impact projects.

You will work closely with product, engineering, customer success, and business stakeholders to deliver the data infrastructure, pipelines, models, and Power BI reports that drive both internal operations and external customer-facing insights. You'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, performance, and usability of our reporting ecosystem—while also helping the team navigate technical challenges, improve processes, and build for long-term scalability.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Lead by Example (Hands-on Technical Delivery)

  • Design and build robust, scalable data models and ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, dbt, Airflow (or similar tools).
  • Develop and publish impactful Power BI reports and dashboards for both internal and external users.
  • Drive improvements to data quality, reliability, and performance across our platform.
  • Participate in code reviews, modeling decisions, and schema design.

Grow and Improve the Team

  • Champion best practices in data engineering, modeling, and reporting—leading by example in both code and process.
  • Identify skill and process gaps within the team and actively work to improve them through documentation, standards, tooling, and internal enablement.
  • Support team development by identifying growth opportunities, providing constructive feedback, and aligning people with impactful, skill-building projects.
  • Contribute to a strong team culture centered on curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Improve How We Work

  • Identify and implement process improvements across our data development lifecycle, including testing, CI/CD, versioning, and monitoring.
  • Help us mature our approach to data governance, documentation, and change management.
  • Lead retrospectives and contribute to a continuous improvement culture within the team.

Collaborate Cross-functionally

  • Work with stakeholders to turn business needs into technical solutions—balancing quick wins with long-term investments.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to prioritize work and deliver trusted data products.
  • Be a thought partner in defining our data roadmap and technical strategy.

Your Toolbox / What You’ll Lead and Build With: As a hands-on technical leader at RideCo, you won’t just oversee the work—you’ll actively contribute to designing, building, and optimizing our data infrastructure and reporting. • Data Warehousing & Modeling: Redshift, DBT, PostgreSQL

  • ETL/ELT Orchestration: AWS DMS, Airflow, DBT, or similar tools
  • Development Practices: Agile methodologies, version control systems (e.g., Git)

Qualifications and Experience:

    • Building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines (SQL, Python, dbt, Airflow)
    • Data visualization and dashboarding, especially using Power BI
  • Proven ability to work across the stack—from raw data ingestion to final reporting layers.
  • Comfortable managing delivery while actively contributing code and technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to align engineering solutions with business goals.
  • Passionate about building scalable systems and mentoring engineers to grow their skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
