The Position

Lead Data Architect

The opportunity

As our new Lead Data Architect, you’ll be at the forefront of Roche’s enterprise data transformation. Your role will be pivotal in designing modern data ecosystems, standardizing architecture practices, and leading strategic initiatives that empower teams across the organization.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the migration from legacy systems to scalable, cloud-native platforms, including Data Mesh architectures.

• Standardize tools, patterns, and governance models across domains to improve efficiency and reduce complexity.

• Build and lead a Data Architecture Community of Practice to drive innovation, alignment, and shared ownership.

• Translate business needs into high-quality, future-ready architecture solutions across diverse domains.

• Oversee delivery of key initiatives like Self-Service BI, Unified Access Management, and Data Cataloging.

• Support onboarding of new Data Product Teams and provide architectural consulting across the enterprise.

• Monitor tech trends to continuously evolve our data platform, governance, and self-serve capabilities.

Location: Poland (Warsaw or Poznań) or Spain (Madrid) We offer a hybrid work model requiring 2 to 3 days per week in the office, depending on the location and specific business needs.

Who you are

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Bring deep experience with cloud-native data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Data Mesh).

• Have a strong background in data modeling, metadata management, and architecture strategy.

• Have led cross-functional teams and strategic data initiatives in complex enterprise environments.

• Are comfortable driving alignment across business, technical, and governance stakeholders.

• Combine technical excellence with a collaborative, community-building mindset.

• Able to communicate fluently in English.

• Salary range: 19 000–28 000 PLN gross, based on an employment contract in Poland. The final offer may vary depending on your experience.
