Requirements
The Temporary Admissions Systems & Data Analyst position at Georgetown University in Qatar is a key role focused on supporting the seamless operation and optimization of admissions systems and processes. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, this role involves a diverse set of responsibilities aimed at ensuring efficient workflows and enhancing the overall admissions experience for prospective students.
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset and technical skills to fill this temporary position. The role will play a key role in supporting the achievement of the university's admissions goals and contribute to delivering an outstanding experience for both prospective students and internal stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic admissions environment at Georgetown University in Qatar.
This position is temporary, expected to start between September and October, for up to six months, and is open to remote working arrangements from locations outside of Qatar (subject to approval). For work within Qatar, the position is non-sponsored and requires all local applicants to already have the necessary sponsorship to live and work in Qatar.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Associate Director of Admissions in developing and maintaining the online application / prospect system, including creation of data imports and exports processes; maintaining and updating queries and rules; troubleshooting issues across the system; and developing best practices;
Serve as a key systems user and point of contact for Technolutions Slate, supporting its use in application processing, data integration, troubleshooting, and reporting;
Assist implementation and day-to-day management of the CommonApp platform, including testing, data flow, and staff support;
Document CommonApp-related procedures and support training of admissions staff on new processes and system functionalities;
Perform system configuration, maintenance, and quality control processes for online applications, documents, forms, decisions, communications, events, and portals.
Assist the Associate Director of Admissions to manage applicant data and records; ensuring that all application documents and information are appropriately collected, stored, and accessible. This includes collaborating with GUQ-IT, UIS, and GU-Q departments to integrate data feeds and document imaging;
Collaborate with the GUQ-IT to maintain the Admissions server effectively;
Support data imports, integration, and maintenance with external systems and vendors (e.g., Banner, Parchment, standardized tests), utilizing both manual and automated integration methods;
Ensure and support admissions personnel effective use of information systems for tracking of communications, events, forms, and reports, etc;
Create documentation of existing and new processes and maintain documents as updates are implemented and, with instruction from the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Strategic Enrollment Management or other senior members of the admissions staff;
Work with GU-Q financial aid to ensure seamless exchange of data to facilitate financial aid review and award notification;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree;
2+ years of experience in an English-speaking and/or bilingual office environment with extensive systems experience;
Significant experience in an academic setting, with university admission experience preferred;
Clear understanding of admissions processes, standards and systems requirements for an admissions office;
Experience juggling demands from multiple and diverse constituencies;
Demonstrable aptitude for learning new computer-based skills and for sharing knowledge with team members;
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
Familiarity with all standard tools for the job, including database program(s), spreadsheet program(s), web-based systems, and HTML, SQL, CSS, Visual Basic, Python, JavaScript, etc;
Prior experience using Technolutions’ Slate for Admissions is strongly preferred;
Familiarity with CommonApp integration and workflows is also preferred, particularly experience supporting implementation, testing, and staff training.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite;
Fluency in English language.
