Currently we’re looking for a Team Manager for our Data Extraction Team!

The Data Extraction team is one of the core teams in Similarweb’s data acquisition operation. As a team manager, you will lead a team of Backend/Data engineers who will be the owners of some of the company’s core datasets. The team will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of collecting data from various sources, such as web scraping, API integrations, and data partnerships. As part of your role, you will work with multiple different stakeholders in R&D to identify data needs, define data requirements, productionize the extraction process, and deliver quality data to your consumers.

The team is part of a growing and expanding domain, presenting the opportunity to take part in some of the company’s future projects.

What you will do:

• Lead a Growing Team: Manage and prioritize the work of the engineers in your team, assigning them to different projects and deliveries. 
• Design Data Pipelines: Engineer data pipelines using state-of-the-art technologies. 
• Analyze Requirements: Collaborate with product managers and other teams to analyze product requirements and plan roadmaps. 📅
• Hands-on Involvement: Actively participate in your team’s projects. 👩‍💻
• Innovate: Engage in thinking groups, create innovative POCs, and discover new technologies and data sources. 💡
• Communicate: Represent your team’s datasets and capabilities to other stakeholders in the company. 🤝
• Develop Skills: Mentor and provide feedback to help your team members develop their skills and career paths at Similarweb. 

What We’re Looking For:

• Backend Development Experience: 5+ years of experience in software backend development using big-data technologies (e.g. MapReduce, Spark, Hive, etc). 💻
• Project Leadership: 2+ years of experience leading data engineering projects. 📈
• Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP. ☁️
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills. 🗣️
• Agile Methodology: Experience in Agile development methodology. 🏃‍♂️
