ROLE SUMMARY
We are currently looking for a Data Analyst to join our Quality team based in Dunfermline. In this role, you will be leading the way in gathering data from a variety of sources, uncovering trends, and transforming complex information into clear, actionable intelligence. Your insights will help shape product performance, drive continuous improvement, and support strategic business moves.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for development and maintenance of metrics and reporting with the ability to analyse data and provide relevant information focussing on key messages.
- Responsible for leading the modernisation of regular reporting from across the business with a primary focus on the Quality team.
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of automated processes in data preparation to replace manual processes.
- Support the business from a data management perspective, ensuring that reports are current alongside the update of any IT infrastructure.
- Responsible for providing Power BI training and support for business users.
- Perform monitoring and auditing of data quality and tracking any issues to closure.
- Work with the business to drive data quality improvements at the source.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting request from various business areas.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- HND/Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a related subject or equivalent education gained through work experience.
- Experienced Power BI user who is self-sufficient and can train other business users to use the tool.
- SQL (significant practical experience – MCSA qualifications preferred).
- Microsoft Azure – experience and knowledge of components such as Key Vault, Data Lakes, SQL DBs, Azure Data Factory and Power Apps.
- Excel – VBA knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of CRM systems (MS Dynamics 365 preferred).
- Experience with and/or desire to develop analytics skills including Machine learning and natural language processing.
- Experience with and/or desire to develop R and/or python programming languages.
- Awareness of data protection laws preferred.
- Proactive approach to data analysis and reporting of the resulting message to the wider business.
- Strong pro-active communicator with the ability to influence others.
- Confident to defend difficult messages from data despite business pressure.
- Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and within tight timescales.
- Good computer skills (MS Office applications).
