Position Description
The primary role of the Building Energy Analyst II is to support a variety of demand-side management (DSM) products and programs through providing measurement and verification (M&V) expertise. We are seeking a self-motivated DSM professional to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with senior staff to communicate analysis plans, methodologies and findings through reports, proposals and visualizations.
- Identify solutions to improve high-frequency modeling and the issue identification process.
- Provide thoughtful ideas to promote continuous improvement.
- Conduct quality control reviews of modeling work performed by junior M&V staff.
- Conduct econometric modeling and statistical analysis.
- Produce data visualizations to distill information and deliver meaningful conclusions and recommendations to both internal teams and to industry clients.
- Effectively communicate analysis plans, methodologies and findings through reports and proposals.
- Maintain timely communication, adapt to changes and deliver time-sensitive products to senior M&V staff.
- Accurately report energy savings metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
- Handle occasional ad-hoc analysis requests including database queries.
Key Qualifications
- Master's degree and 2 years of work experience or 4 years of demonstrated experience in statistics, data analysis, economics, mathematics, environmental studies or other quantitative social science.
- Experience with evaluation, measurement, and verification (EM&V) in the utility space.
- Experience conducting impact evaluations of utility DSM Programs OR some consulting experience in the energy industry.
- Proficiency in linear regression and interpreting statistical outputs.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to clients or executive audiences.
- Experience with creating data visualizations with Python.
- Experience with querying databases.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems (CRM).
- Demonstrated ability to keep notes and maintain systems records.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with data to solve problems.
- Ability to excel in a fully-remote environment.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Location and Travel
Power TakeOff is a 100% virtual company with no physical office location. However, many employees are based in two hubs in the areas around Denver, CO and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Residence in one of these two hubs is desired but not required, and relocation assistance will not be provided for the position. This position is eligible for employment in either the United States or Canada.
Travel is not expected for this position. Power TakeOff will cover the associated accommodation and travel expenses for any company travel.
Compensation and Benefits
The total expected salary compensation range for employees residing in the U.S. is between $58,000 and $69,000 USD per year, depending on experience. Power TakeOff maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions.
