A Day in the LifeResponsible for Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support data ingestion, transformation, and integration from multiple sources into data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring data quality, consistency, and availability for analytics and reporting.
Technical Skills
1. Programming Languages
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data manipulation and pipeline development.
2. SQL & Data Modeling
• Strong command of SQL for querying and managing relational databases.
• Experience with data modeling (star/snowflake schemas, normalization).
3. ETL/ELT Tools
• Familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, Informatica, or Talend.
4. Big Data Technologies
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, or Flink for processing large datasets.
5. Cloud Platforms
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse), or Google Cloud (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow).
6. Data Warehousing
• Knowledge of platforms like Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.
7. Version Control & CI/CD
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps for deployment and automation.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • In new product design roles: develops and programs integrated software algorithms to structure, analyze and leverage data in product and systems applications in both structured and unstructured environments.
  • Develops and communicates descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive insights/algorithms.
  • In product/systems improvement projects: uses machine language and statistical modeling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis and others to develop and evaluate algorithms to improve product/system performance, quality, data management and accuracy.
  • In both theoretical development environments and specific product design, implementation and improvement environments, uses current programming language and technologies to translate algorithms and technical specifications into code.
  • Completes programming and implements efficiencies, performs testing and debugging.
  • Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • Applies deep learning technologies to give computers the capability to visualize, learn and respond to complex situations.
  • Adapts machine learning to areas such as virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, robotics and other products that allow users to have an interactive experience.
  • Can work with large scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems and modeling environments.

TECHNICAL SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A), 0 years of experience required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$95,200-$142,800

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
