We are looking for someone to own Enterprise wide data quality KPIs, with a drive to make datasets best-in-class reliable, consistent, and ready to deliver business insights. Summary of our opportunity
As a Master Data Management (MDM) Manager, your mission will be to ensure that master datasets achieve the highest levels of accuracy and consistency, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Sitting at the heart of the Data Team, you will take ownership of master data quality across domains (customer, legal entities, products, financial instruments), actively identifying gaps and implementing strategies to move toward data perfection.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, working closely with business stakeholders to embed high-quality data into processes, models, and decisions. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, driven by excellence, and inspired to create highly accurate data as an asset for the business.
Primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of master data through:
- Leading regular data cleaning efforts to eliminate errors, redundancies, and inconsistencies.
- Proactively identifying and resolving data quality issues before they impact downstream processes.
- Implementing robust validation and enrichment frameworks for newly created or updated master data.
- This will involve hands on work in our master data management platform (CluedIn)
Driving data quality initiatives, such as:
- Designing and monitoring data quality metrics (e.g., accuracy percentages, timeliness SLAs).
- Conducting root cause analyses of flawed datasets and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Continuously evaluating processes and suggesting workflow optimizations to improve reliability.
Promoting a culture of data excellence, including:
- Collaborating with other teams to embed data quality into the organization's DNA.
- Training and supporting stakeholders to ensure adherence to MDM principles and data governance policies.
Developing and managing a single source of truth, ensuring:
- Seamless integration of data across systems to prevent duplication or conflicting information.
- Full compliance with organizational and regulatory data standards.
Key Requirements/ Qualifications
You will have demonstrable experience of:
Essential
- 5-8+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, or similar roles, preferably in financial industry, with a track record of improving data quality and reliability.
- Subject matter expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) Tools (such as MDM, CluedIn, Reltio, Profisee, Attacama, Informatica, etc). Managing complex hierarchies within financial industry contexts is a strong adventage (legal entities, financial instruments, reference data or other)
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality standards that support scalable growth and consistency.
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken), alongside strong customer centricity and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in analysing and synthesizing data using SQL, with working knowledge of platforms such as Azure or similar cloud-based systems. Practical working knowledge of Excel
- PowerBI familiarity a plus
- Experience in a financial services industry.
- Willingness and ability to travel to London, UK on an ad-hoc basis (2-3 times per year)
Desirable
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders, manage expectations, and drive master data initiatives through adaptable, results-oriented problem-solving.
- Familiarity of data modelling, data lake, data marts (Azure) is preferable.
- DAMA qualification (or equivalent) and/or Financial Certification/Degree is considered a strong asset
- Project experience in data-centric transformations, particularly those focused on process optimization and data cleansing.
