Amazon is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to play a critical role in Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT). We are seeking a talent who will partner with SCOT Finance Director and SCOT executive leadership to perform audits on inbound systems and drive results in excel for executive leadership reviews. We seek a candidate who is keen on diving deep with data analysis and tackling billion dollar business problems in Amazon's inbound space.
The person in this role is responsible for long and short term financial planning, financial controllership, developing and reporting on weekly financial and operational performance metrics, and providing analytical support for Senior Business Management. Experience in or adaptability to learn Amazon's doc writing culture will be a key role in this position.
This position will also be a high visibility role across Amazon leadership with regular interaction with executive leaders. Therefore, strong communication and ownership skills, along with a track record in delivering results is a must have for this role.
In addition to driving issues to closure and delivering results, we are seeking a candidate who will also help us with improving processes by partnering with engineers, scientists and data analysts. Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically, strong oral and written communication, problem solving and prioritization skills will also be critical for success in this role.
Key job responsibilities
- Influence business decisions and proactively drive teams to taking on the right challenge with data analysis
- Act as trusted partner to the Business team in making optimal business decisions and highlighting critical blockers, risks, and opportunities that impact ability to meet quarterly/annual goals
- Work closely with team and management to identify systems, data or process needs that can improve our cost to serve
- Use SQL, Python, QuickSight and Gen AI tools to dive deep and influence leadership decisions while continuously improving team efficiencies
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience using SQL and Python to identify gaps and drive results.

The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
