About the role

• We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Synapse, and exposure to AI/ML technologies and Microsoft Copilot Studio/Agents will be considered a strong plus.

• Location: Remote (USA/Canada) – PST working hours

Essential Functions

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Synapse
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into effective data solutions
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance by implementing best practices for data management and architecture
• Develop and optimize queries, stored procedures, and data transformations to improve performance and reliability
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including cloud services, APIs, and enterprise systems
• Partner with teams leveraging AI/ML models to ensure proper data preparation and pipeline support
• Support business intelligence initiatives by enabling data access through Power BI and other reporting tools
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring smooth operations across environments
• Document workflows, pipelines, and processes to ensure repeatability and compliance with standards
• Stay updated with Microsoft Azure and emerging data technologies to continuously improve solutions

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of overall IT experience, including 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Azure Synapse
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and ETL pipeline development
• Experience integrating data from multiple structured and unstructured sources
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and related Azure ecosystem services
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration and Microsoft Copilot Studio/Agents (preferred)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages is a plus, especially for data pipeline automation and AI/ML integrations

Preferred Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
