Position Overview:

Are you a results-driven Data Engineer with 3+ years of experience and passionate about cutting-edge Data Lakehouse architectures? We're looking for a skilled individual to join our innovative team and drive the development of our next-generation data solutions.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of designing, building, and optimising robust data pipelines, mastering advanced SQL and Python for sophisticated data transformations.
Key responsibilities include data ingestion, ETL/ELT processes, real-time data streaming, maintaining data quality and security. Another important aspect will be the designing, implementing, and managing data governance functionalities embedded in the data platform to enforce governance policies!

Responsibilities:

● Implement Data Governance Features to support data governance policies and procedures, including metadata management, data classification, data quality management, and data lineage.

● Design and Build Data Pipelines: Develop data pipelines, handling both batch and real-time data ingestion and transformation.

● Optimise Performance: Implement tailored strategies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and efficient querying within Snowflake.

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.

● Ensure data security through access controls, encryption, and compliance with internal standards.

● Orchestrate and automate data workflows, ensuring timely and reliable data processing.

● Implement data cleansing, enrichment, and normalisation to prepare data for downstream analysis.

Requirements: 

● Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field.

● 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on back-end development, including building and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses in AWS/GCP environments.

● Understanding of data governance frameworks and experience with implementing controls to enforce compliance with data governance policies across data systems.

● Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in scripting languages like Python for data processing and automation, alongside experience with data orchestration and ETL development.

● Knowledge of real-time data streaming technologies, such as Apache Kafka, is a plus.

● Strong experience with managing and developing data workflows by using a tool such as Apache Airflow.

● Proficiency in Amazon Glue or similar tools for ETL development.

● Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in complex data workflows.
