The Senior Data Operations Analyst position is part of the Data Analytics organization.  This team focuses on strategic, data-oriented projects across the enterprise.   This position plays a key role in defining and managing projects that are typically multifunctional in nature and may broadly impact the organization.  The job requires an understanding of the various Teladoc business units, data sources and pipelines, and how data science can drive success across the business units.    

To be considered, you have demonstrated an ability to quickly learn and manage complex projects across multiple teams: setting clear objectives, defining success metrics, delivering on time.  In this position, you will become a thought leader on the application and impact of data science across the Teladoc enterprise.  You must be an executive-level communicator and have confidence reporting results and interacting with C-suite executives.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Senior Data Analyst role will support the team, delivering key data management activities.  

  • This role will work with stakeholders to understand business objectives, research data sources, and use appropriate tools/techniques.  

  • Understands business vision and engages with technology partners as well as possessing skills to provide optimal design solutions. 

  • Develop a strong understanding of the current data science footprint across the enterprise and identify/prioritize opportunities and grow the DS impact.   

  • Lead the project management function for these projects, setting clear objectives, defining metrics to gauge success, and delivering on time. 

  • Work closely with various data science and other teams: assisting with initiatives related to running the business, making processes more efficient, and developing new initiatives to enhance the Teladoc platform.  

  • Performs ongoing assessment and maintenance of high standards of data integrity and quality throughout the department’s data collection-to-reporting pipeline, as well as implementation of new technologies.   

  • Monitor and perform in-depth analysis of data with documentation to determine areas of improvement or where investigation is needed.

  • The time spent on each responsibility reflects an estimate and is subject to change dependent on business needs.

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • 8+ years of experience as a Data Analyst.  

  • Deep understanding of data management best practices, including Analytics, SQL, data management, file management, reference data management, etc.  

  • Demonstrated ability to carry out a project vision with minimal supervision, and with critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity.  

  • Strong communicator demonstrating clarity, elegance and assurance.   

  • Strategic thinker, with a record of building strategies rooted in insight, data and best practices. 

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data from a variety of functional sources.  

  • Produce ad hoc reports to answer business questions quickly and accurately.  

  • Implement new processes: evaluate existing processes and recommend optimal solutions and improvements.  

  • Partner with business process owners and management on strategic initiatives.  

  • Research best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.  

  • Experience in writing complex SQL queries and scripts. Experience working on MYSQL / SQL Server is a plus.  

  • Experience with cloud databases is a plus.  

  • Experience with other specialty stores, like document or graph data stores, is a plus.  

  • Data Profiling and Data Validation skills. Data Governance is a plus.  

  • Experience in Agile development methodology. 

  • Experience with multi-dimensional data models.   

  • Knowledge and familiarity with database security concepts and standard methodologies.  

  • Experience with clinical or healthcare data a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2024. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
