Description
Verily’s Software Engineer Internship in Israel is a paid program for both undergraduate (BSc) and graduate students (MSc or PhD) who are interested in applying the tools of Deep Learning and Computer Vision to solve pressing medical problems. This program is designed to expose the interns to future career opportunities in Verily Israel.
Verily employees combine expertise in engineering, machine learning, biology, and medicine to change the way healthcare happens. Our work spans three primary areas: research, innovation, and care; the focus of the internship is on the first two. Verily Israel is particularly interested in medical problems that can be solved by the application of algorithms in machine learning, computer vision, and signal processing, including problems that involve the use of novel sensors. Verily Israel has focused on problems in endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery, and is currently expanding this scope to include other biomedical problems of interest.
Responsibilities
- Software Engineer Interns will be assigned to work directly with Software Engineers or Research Software Engineers.
- Focus on a technical problem of interest to the Israel team: generally speaking, develop data pipelines, integration frameworks and advanced algorithms for deep learning and computer vision medical problems.
- Implement end-to-end solutions, including the design and coding of the solution.
- Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to data and information.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Authorization to work in Israel.
- Must be enrolled either in an undergraduate program (BSc) or a graduate program (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or an allied discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a MSc or PhD program.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
