YOUR ROLE    

  

We have an exciting opportunity for a savvy Data Product Specialist to join our Tech & Ops People, Risk & Legal Data Product In this role you will provide subject matter expertise over the data elements within our data product.   

  

This role will input business expertise into the information life cycle and the application of business rules to the data assets. This role will ensure that the data assets are available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely to support the mission and activities of the organisation.  

 

Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be: -  

  

  • Contribute to the roadmap for your data products, in alignment with the overall domain vision. 
  • Collaborate with Data Governance specialists to embed Information Management practices within the domain data products. 
  • Contribute to demand sizing and take-up into the domain/product backlog. 
  • Contribute to the design of the product’s data model. 
  • Lead and collaborate with data and analytics engineers to maintain the Enterprise business glossary for the domain data products. 
  • Lead the quality assurance to ensure stakeholder expectations are met. 
  • Collaborate with the domain engineers and governance to design and deliver on data integrity assurance through the data lifecycle. 
  • Connect the data products to the IAG value streams, aligning with T&O and internal stakeholders. 
  • Role model and promote a proactive risk culture that delivers solid data products. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise with business stakeholders through a solid understanding of the business area, translating project needs into product features, bringing stakeholders on the project to product journey. 

 

  

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for the right person, with a good attitude who will be a solid team fit with the following skills and experiences: -  

  

  • Proven experience of working as a Data analyst/ specialist  
  • Reporting, Analysis & Visualisation technical skills including the use of reporting & analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau or similar.  
  • Proven experience of using JIRA/Confluence and Github  
  • Familiarity in DBT and an understanding of its core concepts and functionalities,  
  • Effectively uses technical capabilities to monitor & evaluate performance.  
  • Strong understanding of insurance data, such as claims, finance, pricing or reserving data, is highly desirable.  
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and documentation skills.  
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security principles,  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.  
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.  
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and product specialists.  

  

  

This is a full time, permanent role that is open to people based in Australia  

  

This role offers flexible working conditions that support a mix of working from home and being in the office.
