AI Product Manager

Microsoft Designer is a team of creative and technical experts who are passionate about empowering people to create beautiful and effective designs with AI. We are looking for an AI Product Manager who will  help lead the vision, strategy, and execution of AI powered design experiences across the portfolio of Microsoft products. You will be responsible for creating, releasing, iterating and growing products that leverage generative AI systems and models to enable users to generate, explore, and refine design ideas at scale. You will work closely with engineers, researchers, designers, marketers and partners to deliver innovative and impactful solutions that delight our customers and drive business value.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy and roadmap for a specific area of the product while ensuring that defined path is consistent with the team’s vision. 
  • Lead iterative product development process from just an idea, through the implementation stage and all the way to the launch. 
  • Establish meaningful partnerships with other Microsoft teams to bring new AI-powered experiences across wide spectrum of Microsoft products. 
  • Identify and prioritize customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive gaps, and translate them into clear and actionable product requirements and specifications. 
  • Leverage customer feedback and insights to iterate and improve the product 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, researchers, designers, and partners to deliver high-quality products that meet user expectations and business objectives. 
  • Define and track key performance indicators and success metrics for the products and use data and feedback to inform product decisions and iterations. 
  • Evangelize and advocate for the value and potential of AI-powered design experiences, both internally and externally, and foster a culture of innovation and experimentation. 
  • Take end to end ownership of the product area and be a tireless voice of the customer, while ensuring business goals are met.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/project/program management.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of product management experience delivering end-to-end products from ideation to launch.
  • 1+ year's of experience working with AI systems, preferably generative AI systems like DALL-E, GPT and Stable Diffusion. 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of the technical, ethical, and user experience challenges and opportunities of generative AI systems and models.
  • An insatiable curiosity and a maker mindset; exploring and learning the AI space and the opportunities it brings 
  • Passion for quality and experience, and a user-centric mindset.
  • Good communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, and the ability to influence and drive consensus across diverse and distributed teams.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts and influence various audiences.
    Proven track record of delivering high-quality products that meet customer and business goals. 

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
