Job Description

Role purpose:

  • Create and maintain Master Data for PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), with an initial focus on product chemical composition before considering additional data objects that contribute to form the compliant bill of materials
  • Work closely with PLM project team and fulfill requirements for data creation and maintenance into PLM system including support required for data migration.
  • Support the shaping and development of the PLM data creation and maintenance processes.
  • Maintain PLM Data within a defined framework at the same time challenging business data requests. Responsible for quality of PLM data and flow into the downstream systems.

Accountabilities:

  • Working with Production and Supply, Development and Regulatory to ensure that any new product and product changes are reflected into the PLM Master Data.
  • Collaborate with regulatory product chemistry for final validation and approval of the chemical sameness of Syngenta products.
  • Develop and maintain workflows for data creation and maintenance for PLM data. Manage and track creation of PLM data with relevant functions.
  • Manage data governance of all PLM data across business and wider organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments for data validation both from upstream systems (R&D) and downstream systems (ERP) meeting data quality and process improvements.
  • Support PLM program’s journey to streamline final operating model by representing master data team.
  • Support data analysis and data literacy to support PLM program.
  • Monitor, measure and report data quality.
  • Identification of process gaps and driving process, data quality improvements.
  • Support training new stakeholders on the usage of the PLM tool.
  • Communicate all updates/ changes to the wider organization related to PLM

  • Ability to understand and evaluate product chemistry with respect to potential Syngenta products.
  • Demonstrates self-sufficiency to lead the data maintenance and integrity to ensure adherence to defined guidelines.
  • Leads by example and influences other functions to follow the process and maintain data quality.
  • Plans own work by prioritizing the different tasks.
  • Self-starting, self-motivating and proactive with a business mindset.
  • Ability to network and communicate across functional and geographical boundaries.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities:

  • Master’s degree in chemistry.
  • Ability to understand the product chemistry information in relation with regulatory and HAZCOM.
  • Experience in Data handling of PLM tools. SAP PLM tool is preferable.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements globally for movement of chemical products.
  • Ability to respond to non-routine/ Ad-hoc work.
  • Ability to challenge status quo/ business on data requests.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HSEQ principles / regulations.

Critical experience:

  • 8-10 years’ experience with min 5+ years of experience in managing PLM data for Chemical companies such as Lifesciences, pharmaceutical and others.
  • Experience in working in an environment with complex processes.
  • Regulatory knowledge and understanding of product chemistry to support Logistics.
  • Experience in Data management and data quality documentation and implementation.
  • Good communication with various stakeholders and other functions.
  • Self-driven Pro-active team player / knowledge sharer / open and transparent.
  • Good analytical thinking and planning ability.
  • Self motivating and leadership qualities to be able to work in unstructured environment.
  • Must be able to influence and successfully deliver across a wide range of international cultures.
