Job Description:

Aeyon is seeking a Data Scientist to support the data and analytics function of a large Department of Defense enterprise. In this high visibility role, The Data Scientist works with business leaders in the Department of Defense to solve business problems by preparing and analyzing data to predict emerging trends and identify opportunities to optimize business results. The successful candidate will have experience leveraging data science/data processing methodologies, tools, and techniques to develop persistent monitoring applications.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping clients achieve excellence in their missions and will have a creative, holistic, and systematic approach to problem solving.
Key responsibilities include:

• Design and build reports, charts, dashboards, for deployment in the organization’s analytic layer
• Work with stakeholders throughout the Department to identify opportunities to leverage data for strategic insight into mission performance and business operations
• Mine and analyze data from disparate databases
• Coordinate with functional teams across the Department to implement models and monitor outcomes
• Communicate with senior leaders to articulate progress of ongoing analytic initiatives and shape and elaborate on approaches to improve analytic capability
• Participate in customer and user community collaboration fora to promote, train, inform, and solicit feedback on analytic products

Experience Requirements:

Mandatory:

• 2+ years of relevant consulting or professional experience with the DoD/Federal Government
• Experience creating and using dashboards and statistics
• Experience using statistical computer languages to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets (Python preferred)
• Excellent oral and written communications skills

• Proficient with BI/Analytic tools including Qlik Sense, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx
• Ability to work successfully in a collaborative and diverse business environment

Waiverable/Substitutable: Non-technical bachelor's degree is acceptable if accompanied by a Data Science certificate program from an accredited college or university, or an industry-recognized association/institution

Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information systems, economics, statistics, or a related discipline.
