DUTIES:
- Perform different data quality checks to the survey data, including invalid IDs, duplicate records, failed skip patterns, and outliers. Also suggest and implement solutions to fix data issues.
- Prepare processed data for dissemination purpose and statistical analysis by recording variables, impute data missingness, and reshaping data structure.
- Create data delivery packages including processed dataset, format library, codebook and other programs or instructions needed for clients and data users.
- Help prepare written internal and external technical documentation that describes the analytic and data manipulation steps used for a study.
- Write and support technical reports for project delivery, including non-response analysis reports and weighting/sampling procedure reports for project delivery.
- Create presentations and posters for various conferences, which are related to statistics, data sciences, survey research, and public health.
- Collaborate with senior statisticians to conduct statistical analyses including but not limited to descriptive statistics, generalized linear models, random effects models, machine learning models, and other statistical methods.
- Perform survey sampling techniques to support data collection activities, including web, landline and cell telephone, and mail/address-based survey samples.
- Collaborate with senior statisticians to implement survey data weighting protocols (e.g., non-response adjustments, post-stratification, raking) for complex surveys (including creation of replicate weights) for various projects.
- Import, clean, and transform data.
- Develop complex conditional logic.
- Use data steps and PROC SQL to combine and aggregate data.
- Modify and write SAS macros.
- Produce reports and deliverable files for clients.
- Help prepare written internal and external technical documentation that describes the analytic and data manipulation steps used for a study.
- Perform survey sampling techniques to support data collection activities, including web, landline and cell telephone, and mail/address-based survey samples.
- Collaborate with our statisticians in the calculation of weights for survey data.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Survey Methodology or other relevant statistical field and 3 years of applied statistical, analytical or data management experience in either an academic or professional setting
OR
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Survey Methodology or other relevant statistical field and 1 year of experience with applied statistical, analytical or data management experience in either an academic or professional setting.
Demonstrated knowledge* of:
- statistical programming or scripting languages
- SAS
- Microsoft Office products or other document editing software
- survey research.
- Conducting statistical analysis on data that uses complex survey designs and generation of reports.
*Knowledge may be demonstrated through education, training, and/or experience.
Full-time telework permitted.
LOCATION: 530 Gaither Road, Suite 500, Rockville, MD - 20850
There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is: $85,218 – $106,860/year.
