JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Architect will be a member of Novocure’s corporate analytics & data strategy team, participating in designing, architecting, and building the foundation for Business Intelligence activities for broad corporate initiatives. This role will provide the technical and analytical capabilities necessary to support Novocure’s vision, mission and values as well as corporate objectives and OKRs as it pertains to data.

This role will be proficient in data architecture, cloud data warehouse technologies, and data pipeline creation and management. This role will be dedicated to leveraging and growing Novocure’s datalake and peripheral toolsets to drive modernization efforts within Novocure’s data ecosystem. The Data Architect will ensure proper scalability and cyber security needs for Novocure’s data, as well as bring creative ideas and solutions to support the growing needs of various business units. This role will be a key team member in setting the strategy and foundation for the future of data at Novocure.

 

The Data Architect is a full-time remote position reporting to the Director, Enterprise Integrations, based in the US.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development and delivery of database and data warehouse technologies, specifically Google BigQuery, SQL Server, and SAP S/4 HANA
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, SQL, relational data models, and complex query writing
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solution design
  • Research, development, and implementation of appropriate data pipelines, inclusive of both ETL and ELT pipelines for expanding usage of Novocure’s datalake and corporate reporting platforms
  • Be responsive to the needs of the business, and bring forth innovative and scalable data solutions to solve internal needs
  • Build relationships with business analytics specialists outside the IT department and partner with key stakeholders to promote data-driven decision-making, and analytical culture throughout the organization
  • Create and drive a strategy to continue modernizing Novocure’s data landscape, identifying short and long term needs and investments to deliver best in class solutions
  • Continuously assess Novocure’s data landscape and tools against industry best practices
  • Participate in improvement efforts as related to corporate analytics and data
  • Assess new technologies and vendors to ensure Novocure’s analytics and data needs are being met

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Math, Statistics, or related field
  • 10+ years experience in working on Enterprise Data initiatives, including leading complex cloud datalake and data warehouse projects
  • Proficiency with Google BigQuery, SQL Server, and SAP S/4 HANA
  • Expertise in common, SQL-based data management tools
  • Proficiency with multiple data pipeline tools, specifically Fivetran, Business Objects Data Services, MuleSoft
  • Understanding of cyber security requirements in a regulated environment (e.g., HIPAA and GDPR)
  • Experience in advanced analytics, predictive modeling, machine learning, cognitive tools, and artificial intelligence a plus
  • Understanding of system architecture and integration principles
  • Demonstrated success in cross functional integration/relationships and execution
  • Knowledge of SAP data structures a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and deliver solutions cross-functionally across Novocure’s business units
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Some knowledge of project management principles
  • Results-oriented and fast learner
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Travel up to 40%
